Wix's built-in banner covers the basics. For category-level opt-ins, Google Consent Mode v2, script gating, and a consent log you can export, install PolicyForge's banner via Custom Code.
Run the free cookie scanner on your site — no account needed. When you build your banner, the cookie categories are pre-selected from what the scan actually found.
In the dashboard, open Consent Banner, pick your position, theme, and colors, enable Google Consent Mode v2 if you use Google tags, and save. You'll get a one-line embed snippet with your banner ID.
In your Wix dashboard, go to Settings → Custom Code → + Add Custom Code. Paste the snippet, name it (e.g. "PolicyForge Consent"), set Add Code to Pages → All pages, and Place Code in → Body - end. Apply.
Publish and open your site in a private window. The banner should appear; accept or reject and check the consent shows up in your PolicyForge consent log. If you use Google tags, enable Consent Mode v2 in the banner settings first.
Wix only allows custom code on upgraded (premium) sites with a connected domain — the Custom Code panel is disabled on free Wix sites.

Wix injects its own cookies (svSession, bSession and others) and app cookies server-side, so they can't be wrapped in text/plain tags. Gate the scripts you add yourself through Custom Code by tagging them with data-consent-category, use Consent Mode v2 for Google tags, and keep Wix's own Privacy & Cookies settings configured for its first-party cookies.
GDPR expects the banner to link to a policy that discloses every cookie your Wix site sets. Generate one tailored to Wix — default cookies and common integrations included.
